Upcoming Workshops

I'm excited to fill you in on three upcoming workshops in three locations:

February 21st 1-3pm @ Earth Pulse Yoga: Finding Your Unique Balance -An Introduction to Ayurveda for Health and Wellness

Have you ever noticed how a really hot, humid summer day can make you feel more easily irritated? Or wondered why the common cold is more common in the winter and spring? Using the ancient Indian healing science of Ayurveda, we will explore how each of us has a unique constitutional balance that leads to optimal health and wellness and how each of us can access that state of wellness even when life throws us curve balls. This introductory workshop will include a basic overview of Ayurveda, an opportunity to discover your unique Ayurvedic constitution, and lifestyle strategies for maintaining your constitutional balance. It will also include customized, gentle yoga sequences to  help maintain constitutional balance, so please wear comfortable clothing.

Cost: $25 for pre-registrants; $30 at the door

March 6th 7-8:30pm @ Peace Yoga: Restorative Yoga PLUS

There’s nothing like a little R & R at the end of a long week: relax, re-energize, and renew with an extended candlelit restorative practice. We will begin by focusing on the breath and moving into a gentle warm up. We will transition to standing poses which will increase warmth, allowing the muscles to become pliable and let go of tension. The second half of the class will be spent in restorative postures, which use blankets, bolsters, straps, and blocks to completely support the body, allowing the muscles to fully relax and the mind to find calmness. A gentle aromatherapy blend diffusion will encourage relaxation during the practice and herbal tea will be available after the practice to keep you warm and relaxed for the rest of the night. Please bring a mug if you would like some tea; appropriate for all levels, including those new to yoga or recovering from injury or illness.

March 27th - May 1 6:45-8:45 @ Razz Yoga: Spring Cleanse

This six-week mind/body cleanse is designed to help you:

  • Rejuvenate your body and mind, remove accumulated toxins, boost your immune system, and feel more energetic and purposeful
  • Develop deeper body awareness through understanding detoxification from both western scientific and Ayurvedic perspectives and through targeted Yoga sequences
  • Apply your new awareness by initiating specific lifestyle routines
  • Gain the confidence to continue applying new skills and awareness beyond the six-week course

We will meet weekly for a full Yoga practice that supports your cleanse and in-class activities that will clarify new skills and concepts. Please also plan to allow time outside of weekly meetings to review online educational materials and to apply lifestyle routines. Cleansing is not recommended for pregnant women or individuals with acute, depleting illness. We have put together a detox goody-bag with everything you need for the six-week workshop (besides food, of course!). The goody-bag is included in the workshop cost and includes:
